Where can I configure the Linux kernel ?

  Hello,
  
  I´ve been trying add/remove some kernel features, by issuing "make menuconfig" in sysdrv/source/kernel
  I save my config but then when I want to compile the kernel, my config is apparently overwritten and no used.
  
  What shall I do in order to compile a kernel with a custom configuration ?
