If I connect my new picokvm to my KVM switch, it powers up but does not show the USB connected status, and the keyboard/mouse not working. If connect picokvm directly to the server it works fine.
My old DIY pikvm does not have that issue and works when connected to the KVM switch. Anything can be done on the picokvm to fix that?
picokvm - Not connecting to USB if plugged in to my KVM switch
Our tests using the USB switcher were without any issues. It uses a similar solution to that of the KVM switcher. Usually, such situations occur due to hardware connections or power supply problems. Currently, we recommend replacing the cables for testing.
In the future, we will attempt to optimize the USB driver and will also introduce special USB cables that can use an external power supply for more stable power supply.

It does not seem to be a cable. It works when connecting directly to the computer. I tried another cable 10Gbit superspeed, still the same results...
My HDMI switch supports the switching between connections using the keyboard hot keys (Ctrl,Ctrl, 1-4), so I guess it might be doing some tricks for that, but again, the PiKvm works fine with it (but it does use a separate power supply)...

I'm having the same issue. When it's plugged into the generic USB on the KVM it works perfectly. However to use the switching shortcut (ctrl ctrl 1-8) I get all kinds of errors on the host machines. The shortcut to switch works, but the input to the machine does not. I have also tried putting a powered USB hub in between the picokvm and kvm switch but it is the same result. When I plug a keyboard into the switching shortcut USB it works perfectly on the shortcut and forwarding to the host machine. It seems a bit silly that power is done through the data USB port with no option at all to allow external power. I think this is the issue.
