Hi, I’m new to the forum and to Linux — I’m learning little by little. I’ve set up a Luckfox Lyra Zero W with an Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS image I found on GitHub (I’m not sure if it’s the best method security-wise, but I’m just experimenting). The image is this one: https://github.com/platima/SBC-Images/t ... 20Zero%20W
Unfortunately, I can’t find an image for the Luckfox Lyra Pi. Why aren’t these images available on the official site for my two new boards?
Thank you for your work, these boards are amazing.
Luckfox Lyra Pi - Ubuntu image
I'm a bit disappointed. Five days to publish/approve a post on the forum, no support for the Luckfox Lyra Pi, no Debian/Ubuntu image, no response.
The image you provided from the GitHub link can be used directly. The author is one of our loyal users and has made significant contributions to the community.
Unfortunately, orting Ubuntu for commercial use without official authorization constitutes an infringement. We have already removed relevant Ubuntu-related content. We have always attached great importance to and respected the copyright and compliance of open-source software. Therefore, we will not provide the release and support of the Ubuntu system until we obtain official authorization. If we obtain formal authorization in the future, we will evaluate and consider making relevant versions available.

I didn’t know that each board had to be authorized for Ubuntu. I saw that for some of your other boards there is an Ubuntu image available, so I was asking if there is one for mine. Anyway, I can’t even find what’s needed to create the Ubuntu image through the SDK for my Luckfox Lyra Pi. Maybe I’m missing some basic knowledge and don’t understand, or perhaps that material is simply not available? Thanks.
Hello, before receiving the copyright warning, we did provide Ubuntu support for all versions. Now, in the wiki SDK and the cloud storage, we have removed all Ubuntu-related content as per the regulations. The Ubuntu images you can see might have been backed up and shared by other users after we previously released them, or they might have been re-adapted by other customers(like https://github.com/platima/SBC-Images/t ... ckfox/Lyra).
The development of both Lyra Pi and Lyra Zero was carried out after receiving the Ubuntu copyright warning. For these two models, we did not undertake any work related to the Ubuntu system migration.

And now? Is there no possibility? Not even the SDK with the necessary materials can be released by you? Thank you.Crocodile wrote: ↑2025-08-18 1:30 Hello, before receiving the copyright warning, we did provide Ubuntu support for all versions. We do not have the ability to bear the consequences of violating the Ubuntu license, so we cannot provide any materials or software tools related to Ubuntu.
The simple suggestion is to replace the rootfs.img in the Lyra Pi image with the Ubuntu rootfs.img (make sure it is running on the eMMC, such as the eMMC image in the thread viewtopic.php?t=1760), and Ubuntu does not have special requirements for the kernel and Uboot.
