Hello,
I just got two of these PicoKVM, and after a firmware update or two, I am suprised of the overall quality vs the price. Very well done!
I added an additional SDCard in the dedicated slot (might be overkill for my needs, I didn't know space was available to upload ISO), but I am wondering if there's any chance to someday see full mass storage exposition through USB.
My expectation was to install Ventoy and be able to boot any iso that way. It's a bit redundant but a bit more practical I would say in my case.
Many thanks
Full disk through USB ?
At the moment, PicoKVM already supports emulating itself as a bootable USB device for OS installation and flashing, which covers most common use cases and has proven to be relatively stable in practice.
We do understand the appeal of using Ventoy. Its main advantage is indeed avoiding frequent ISO switching in the web interface and making multi-ISO management more convenient.
That said, emulating PicoKVM as a full Ventoy-style device is not just a matter of enabling USB mass storage. It would require the UMS driver to expose multiple partitions simultaneously, and we would also need to carefully design the image upload and storage workflow.
We’ll definitely try to evaluate whether this kind of functionality can be implemented. It may not be based on a native Ventoy setup
