Hi,
I have a non-eMMC board I tried to boot from SD-card that doesn't work. I get no messages at all from the debug serial port either. The serial port cable is confirmed working on a board with eMMC.
The RKDevTool reports a MASKROM device.
Any help is welcome.

I actually managed to "fix" the problem by messing around with the RKDevTool. I tried to read chip info and changed storage just for the purpose of getting any response. Everything I did timed out. I pressed reset just for the sake of it and now it boots. I must have changed something in the MASKROM, unclear what (and what can you change in ROM anyway?)

During the Maskrom stage, the bootrom program built into the chip is running. No relevant documentation has been made public for this part. The only thing i can confirm is that it initializes all storage interfaces and DDR interfaces in an attempt to find firmware or establish a USB connection.
