Make sure the metal side of the ribbon cable at the display end is facing upwards when connecting. Also, check if the power supply is a standard 5V 3A. If the power supply is 5V 1A or lower, it may not be able to power both the Raspberry Pi 4 and the 7-inch screen simultaneously.
